Study for Tomorrow
Writing Assignment
Here is the presentation from class today, just in case you need additional help.
Unit 1 Exam this week!
Well we are about to wrap up our first Unit on the foundations of democratic ideas. This week you should all be working on the study materials you have been provided, especially the Democracy Song and Study Guide. Good luck and make sure the entire notebook is up to date by Friday, as I will check them before you go on break. Click on the Assignments Page and head to Unit 1 to see all notebook assignments.
Enlightenment Letter
This week we have been studying the ideas of the Enlightenment. You will demonstrate mastery of these ideas by completing your writing assignment from class today.
TASK: Imagine you are one of the three Enlightenment thinkers (Locke, Hobbes, Montesquieu). Write a letter to the other two Enlightenment thinkers you have been learning about. In this letter, share your thoughts on their ideas. Do you agree with them? Why or Why not?
The following should help you get started. Remember that a FULL PAGE is required. You may choose to type your letter and make it creative or look authentic. Use the guide below to start the letter, and then continue to write about the ideas.
Dear __________,
I have been reading your book, _____________, and I wanted to tell you that I find your ideas ___. First of all, you say that __________________.
Your assignments are posted!
Check the assignment links on the tabs above to get an updated list of the assignments that should be in your notebook. I am collecting notebooks next week by Wednesday at the latest.
