Based on the reading, “The Purges Under Stalin”, imagine that you have been arrested and imprisoned by the NKVD for unknown reasons. You have been given the opportunity to write ONE letter. Write a letter to a loved one and explain what you are going through. Click on the “comments” link at the bottom of this post to type your letter.

I have already planned the first two weeks of class and the assignments you will have are already listed under the UNIT 7 ASSIGNMENTS page. If you want to keep current on the notebook. Take some time this week to make sure you have it up to date before you fall behind. Also, I have posted some videos below to help you understand the topics we are going over the first two weeks. Take some time to review them if you are having trouble understanding the topics in class.
Part 1 – This will help you understand the causes of the Russian Revolution
Part 2 – This segment will help you understand the period between the two revolutions, and events leading to the Bolshevik Revolution.

Imagine that you are a young inventor living in the year 1830. Write a “Journal Entry” for the year 1830. In your journal, discuss some of the inventions you have seen lately or even invented yourself. Explain how these inventions are changing life and what impact they might have in the future.
